Yes, we mean any types of homes, landed or high rise, big or small, with or without balconies or yards

My, my, lockdown again? More of staying home? “It’s time to get into some serious healthy eating. Maybe I should buy more veggies and fruits…” You probably heard this a lot from friends and family during this stay-at-home season, or it could be you. And it probably went very well, until the movement restricted order is lifted and you’re able to go out for dining again. And then you will forget everything… again.
So, the saying “out of sight, out of mind” is true. Unless you have the greens hanging there right in front and harvestable whenever you want to, chances are your healthy lifestyle goal is going to be seasonal too. And in reality, when it comes to gardening, not all of us are the green kind. At least we the daddies weren’t. It’s just a small MCO resolution to kickstart a healthy lifestyle with the kids – that turned into an experiment of indoor home gardening – and into a hobby eventually. If you’ve been reading our previous posts (and know what we’re selling) you probably know by now that growing vegetables isn’t a rocket science and anyone can learn to become a city farmer.

You may be surprised by the variety of edible plants you can grow aeroponically, and we have test-proved these top veggies that are really forgiving and you can really kickstart right away.
Bok choy / Pak Choy

This Chinese cabbage with green leaves and thick crunchy white stems are really low maintenance. Grow fast and tolerant in any environment, these guys can be harvested in just 4 – 6 weeks. They’re also a multi harvest veggie, which means they will continue to grow after harvest for many rounds. Tips: Bok Choy is a very nutritious plant that is full of fibre, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants and best to be eaten freshly upon harvested, so here’s the bonus point of having it grow indoor at home.
Other varieties of multi harvest vegetables that work well with aeroponics are small bok choy, nai bai, kalian and kangkong.
Lettuce

If you are a frequent salad eater, you’ll save a ton of money and time growing it on your own than paying for it at the grocery stores. Leafy greens such as lettuce performs very well indoors in aeroponics because they grow quickly. All you need is a simple set up and periodical feedings to keep your lettuce growing and producing strong! Allow the plants to grow at least four to 6 inches before you cut them and voila! Here’s the fresh salad you never have to buy again! What even is a store anymore?
Herbs
Don’t let their size fool you. Herbs are one of the easiest and effortless plants to grow via aeroponics technique. Many herbs require minimal care and space but grow like wild flowers: mint, basil, chives, and lemongrass to name a few. You can grow them the same way you would grow lettuce, but you’ll be able to snip them off in just about 2 – 3 weeks old, year-round. Use them freshly to take a dish from good to great, because what would pesto be without basil, right?
Leeks
When you are more adventurous, you might also want to try growing leeks aeroponically. Though onions may struggle in a vertical farming environment, leeks, the lesser known member of the onion family, thrive. Tips: leeks tend to grow tall so it’s best to plant them at the top of the vertical tower. This green and white plant is an awesome versatile vegetable, so you can count on them for a wide-range of soups and main courses. Did we say they also grow real fast?
We’ve no doubt, the longer you grow, the more you’ll want to regrow or add new veggies to your healthy list. But first, you’ll need the ready-to-go tools to kickstart your beginning journey in aeroponics farming. For this reason, we suggest you to purchase our complete Aeroponics System Kit. Indoor growing is so sustainable and we certainly don’t want you to miss the fun out of frustration
